Our Community
Ressam Gardens, conveniently located across from the William Connell Park on West 5th, offers a variety of services to both the residents of the retirement home and the local community.
Alzheimer Society Satellite Office
A brand new satellite office for the Alzheimer Society of Brandt, Haldimand, Norfolk, Hamilton Halton is located here at Ressam Gardens. Alzheimer Society counsellors will be working out of this location for counselling sessions, information, training, support, and more. This partnership will better serve our residents and families, as well as the outer community.
William Connell Park
Situated across the street from Ressam Gardens, William Connell City Wide Park is a favourite spot for our residents. The park is home to ponds, walking paths, pavillions for events, and playgrounds for families with a splash pad in the warm weather. The Alzheimer Society will soon be offering their Sit to be Fit and Minds in Motion programs in the park as well as in our building.
Family Doctor
Dr. Maryam Rostami
An onsite family doctor ensures convenience and peace of mind for our residents. Upon admission each resident has the option to accept Dr Rostami as their primary physician, who is in the community visiting residents on a bi-weekly basis at minimum and triaging based upon additional needs.
Certified Footcare Nurse
Amanda Truffen
Amanda is a Registered Practical Nurse certified in basic and advanced foot care, and trained in the management of a wide variety of foot ailments, including those related to diabetes, arthritis, poor circulation, muscle inflammation, and aging. Services include nail care, corn and callus care, preventative screening, and foot care assessments.
Local Businesses – Excursions
One of the benefits of our location is getting to be involved in the community around us and support local stores, getting our residents out in the sunshine and face to face friends old and new. Residents make regular accompanied visits to many of the businesses located minutes away via the convenient walking path between our property and Upper James St.
Hair Salon
Our in-house stylist provides residents with a range of services that fit their needs and her expertise will help you look and feel your best. Located on our first floor, our hair salon provides convenience without needing to arrange transportation or leave the community. Please contact reception during business hours to book an appointment.
